Hello!

I’m a Social Scientist and for the last 20 years I have researched children’s experiences of moving home. I have worked with children who have moved home for many different reasons, across different distances, and in different ‘types’ of families:

• Military 
• Separating 
• Ministry 
• Escape to the country
• International 
• Regional 
• Local 
• Diplomatic 
• Foster/adoptive
• Expats
• Refugee 
• Asylum-seeker
• Escaping Brexit​

I have always been fascinated by people’s experiences of moving. I moved home with my family five times before I was age 12. I have moved home (and cities) with my own young children twice too. This isn’t because I love moving home! It’s probably for similar reasons to you – the way we live today often means we have to move and sometimes across long distances. ​

Rather than let a lot of unique information about how to have a successful home move with kids stay in academic journals (or never be published) I decided to get it to the people who need it. If you are reading this, then hopefully that is you!
